Last year, I hardly picked up a paintbrush. I’m not sure why. Perhaps I had ceramics taking over my brain;) This year I vow to put the paintbrush into action again! Ceramics will have to make a little room for painting, because I want to practice both.
It’s often a bit daunting for me to start a new painting, so I decided to start small. On a large piece of bristol vellum, I pencilled off 6 greeting card-sized rectangles, then taped the paper to a board.
After a couple painting sessions, here’s what I’ve got so far.
So far, media includes acrylic paint, oil pastel, permanent marker, and china marker. Here are a couple of closeups.
They’ve got a ways to go, but it’s a start! I am painting again.
